Do I Look Like an Idiot?

No really, do I look like an idiot? Because that seems to be the look I get when I described what I wanted to do. I got this look from our friends at the Home Depot. I got this look from my friends at a local Building Material Supply Warehouse. And I suspect I would get this look (over the phone) from my roofing contractor.

It's not such a complicated matter. As an engineer, I designed lots of things. My elevator opened envelopes and helped process medication orders. My facilities tray reduced piece part count by 85% and dropped assembly times from hours to minutes. And my blah blah did blah blah. Not the point. Those are long gone times. The point is: I wasn't askin' for a rocket to the freakin' moon today.

I was tempted to cobble something together. But my house project needs a proven and reliable solution, not one I could generate on site. And after turning to this fancy new teknologe I found my solution. Yes, the interweb is a fantastical wonder of electrons and I am damned happy it is here at my finger tips.

If I wouldn't have been able to search for a solution here at home, I think I would have lost many days seeking out the same fix. I would have likely spent more money than needed. I would have contracted a terrible, disfuguring disease and spent the balance of my days interned in a small wooden box lined with brussel sprouts, which I hate.

So, I am pleased things worked out but still frustrated. There are so many things to learn. And everything seems to take alot of effort. It tires me to think of it.
