I heard it once said, and I paraphrase liberally, "Sad songs are as sad as the listener." I suppose it would follow for happy songs and those kick ass puppy kicking songs too. I believe that saying is fairly spot on, as in, a sad person or a person in a sad moment is looking, oddly enough, for something sad to bring out that sadness in a way one can not express.
wow, way too long. How about, sad people want sadness. A looking for agreement kind of argument.
Take Dick Cheny for instance. He likes war, warring, and anything that mongers war-like behavior. He sees evidence and reallllyyy believes he sees things like weapons of mass detruction burried in the sand. It wasn't there. Never was. But hell in Dick's world, he looked for agreement and darned if he did not find it. bang.
I try to catch myself from following a similar path. Not war! but looking for agreement instead of being open to new ideas and ways of doing things. But sometimes I know I am doing it. I neeeed it. Take sad songs. I needed some sadness today. Tomorrow, maybe I will kick some puppies.
