I don't mean to offened any of you but who makes $125 an hour? Structural engineers do apparently. Well, that's what their company bills them out at, atleast the one recommended to me.
On the positive side, he will be able to generate beam calculations and framing requirements on site. So, maybe only two hours of time.??? He also is a historic-friendly engineer which is tough to find. One that will say, "Yes. Put that roof load right there on top of that brick header." I have some heartburn with just repeating the framing practices of the 1800's. That the structure has made it one hundred forty years doesn't assuage my fears. Having a certtified dude/dudette give me a thumbs up will go a long way.
$125 an hour. That is scandalous. I feel dirty paying for it. But I need it. Is that so wrong? Lots of people do it and they carry on like it's nothing. I may need to go to confession afterwards. Eventhough I am not catholic, I still may need to do it. Just to let God know I am sorry. He listens to those catholics alot. I guess it's cause they are always confessing things. Things he already knows and always knew anyway. Silly if you think about it.
And so is this post.
Shake it easy.

$125 is the going rate, huh? That is pretty steep, Mr. Meyer. You can count on me for a six pack of Milwaukee's Best next time I see you. If everyone kicks in a little, it really adds up. Who's in?
