The end of a week that saw a very large, very dead tree removed. I won't replay the whole story but let me indulge your fancy with these sketchy notes:* 7.5 feet in diamter and 35-40 feet tall
* Jeff in the tree, tied off, with a running chain saw asking, "Are you sure this limb won't come back and knock me off?"
* 100 feet of rope, tied to the hitch, truck in 4x4 to jump the curb
* power lines, light posts, and a poorly timed vehicle approaching the 'fall zone'.
Okay, no one died. The truck did not sustain damage. I did not get hauled off to jail by City of Saint Louis police. So, not a great story.
The historical reviewer from the State is cool with the plans, one big hurdle. One big one left: the city's cultural resources office. I hear they just aren't the friendly types.
Shake it easy.
